A Canadian's look on America
Stole the below from Anonymous on 4chan. Just using it to illustrate a point. Please note I don't endorse 4chan a whole lot, but when this amount of trash about Health Care Reform bothers me, it leads me to ask the question: Are you Americans completely dense to how your government runs, or are you just racist to Obama as much as Fox News is?
You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.
You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.
You didn't get mad when the Pentagon misplaced $2.3 trillion.
You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.
You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.
You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war.
You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.
You didn't get mad when you saw the Abu Grahib photos.
You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.
You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.
You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
You didn't get mad when we let a major US city drown.
You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.
You didn't get mad when the debt went up $5 trillion under Bush.
You finally got mad when.. when... wait for it... when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all ok with you but helping other Americans... well fuck that. ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH!
Now back to me talking here. Someone on Twitter gave me an example of how much money HCR will cost certain companies (The example was Caterpillar heavy equipment, to the tune of $100 Million US, in which roughly half of their workforce and company isn't even based in the US). I ask you this, "If those companies had no manpower to work for them, how will they make products to make money?" They can't. I don't care if you say 'they need money to have workers'. That's a cop-out in an attempt to remove burden of proof from you. Ask CAT how much money they spend on advertising in NASCAR. Ask CAT how much bonuses they give out every year to their higher paid engineers and executives. I'm sure you likely won't get the same argument any more.
Wake up. Things like H1N1 (Swine Flu) or whatever the hell it was called could very well happen again in a different form. Wouldn't you want the right to see a doctor when you're sick? No? You'd rather die then have that happen? No amount of money in this world is worth your life. You can't spend money when you're dead from some trivial flu.

GOvernment should fear the people the people should not fear the government
