Yes, they call me a "geek" too

My most recent Think-Geek.com order came in today.  To cap the order is one of my most important wants ever in life: that Force FX DIY Lightsaber, which I mentioned a few posts ago in this very blog.  Also in the order were a couple of shirts, seen here and here, and some Black Black candy and gum, which I'm super glad I ordered.  Black Black Candy is like caffeinated, extra-strength flavor Halls.  Super minty.  The caffeine is only a mild dose anyways.  I was introduced to Black Black many years ago by a Malaysian fellow, but forgot about the stuff.  When the opportunity for another TG order came up, the Black Black purchase was a given.  12 packs of the gum and 4 packs of the candy should last an eternity with me.  I can't talk about the rest of the order.  >.>

The Lightsaber though, wow, what a nice purchase.  Interchangeable parts, some parts are metal, and I can definitely see them as paintable pieces.  If I could make more pieces that fit, it'd be cool, but these are specifically designed, so I'd have to come up with some other way to remake the Tsubaki beam katana.  The only piece that isn't molded to fit the hilt of the saber is one of the metal Emitter pieces, which goes closest to the blade.  I can totally mod that piece, or make a wooden copy of that piece, to get what I'm looking for.  Of course, I'm using the blue blade light, but it switches if you remove the handle covers to either red or green, depends on who you're dressing up as I guess.  Maybe I should be Vader for Halloween... nah, too dorky.

Few things I'd like to mention aside from the order itself are:  DHL kicks UPS ass when it comes to delivering fast, although DHL operations are in Halifax, while UPS are in the back of the Industrial "Complex Maze" that is Truro.  If I miss a DHL delivery, I'm toast, I'd probably have to go all the way to Halifax to get it, or get the very pissed DHL dude to redeliver.  UPS, on the other hand, will deliver around my schedule if I tell them to, which I didn't know until the last issue I had with them (the Halo 3 order).   I got the Think-Geek order in 4 days, 3 of which were transit. (Ordered on Monday, acknowledged the order on Monday, picked up on Tuesday, arrived here on Friday, so really, that's fast to me.)  The UPS option would have cost me double to ship, and would have taken longer, as the Halo 3 clothing shipment last year didn't go over so well, if anyone recalls... (Had to call them, they kept delivering early in the morning or when no one was home, or to the wrong house!  Ended up picking it up in the Industrial Park past the radio station, in the middle of freakin' nowhere, surrounded by warehouses.)

End result: What can Brown do for me?  Move the hell over, 'cuz Yellow and Red's coming through!
